Chairman's Message
The CBC is proud to announce our new and continuing Annual Maple Leaf Sponsors whose objective is to enhance the profile and quality of CBC events. I would like to extend our utmost appreciation to our Maple Leaf Gold Sponsor - InterHealth Canada Ltd. and Canada Export Centre and Maple Leaf Silver Sponsors Royal Bank of Canada, Research in Motion and AECOM for their commitment and support of our organization. This year, we would also like thank your Honorary Chairman, HH Shiekh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al maktoum and Honorary Members for their continued support of the CBC. As well as welcome our Consul General HE Kris Panday and Ambassador HE Ken Lewis. 2009-2010 proved to be a very successful year of events & program including a trade mission to Fujairah led by His Excellency Consul General of Canada in Dubai Kris Panday. The CBC also held the Annual Big 5 Dinner including panel speakers from MEED, Arabtec, TDIC and ALDAR. The CBC also had the opportunity to receive Mr. Abdulla Al Awar, CEO of DIFC at a luncheon presentation sponsored by Lootah BC Gas. Apart from events, the CBC also achieved great success in Corporate Social Responsibility where the CBC donated nearly AED 70,000 to charity organizations, namely UNICEF and Manzil Center for Challenged Individuals. I truly believe that despite this challenging economic climate, UAE and the Middle East still remains an amazing growing environment with growth potential where Canadian corporations and businesses will thrive. On behalf of the executive committee, we will do our best to support our community and accompany our members to reach our goals. Sincerely, Marie-Josée Primeau Whats New at CBC Latest News and Announcements from CBC Joint CBC Dubai & Abu Dhabi Initiatives Joint CBC Dubai & Abu Dhabi Initiatives 2010-2011 Dear CBC Member, We are delighted to announce that the Executive Committees for both the CBC Abu Dhabi and the CBC Dubai and the Northern Emirates have agreed, under the patronage of His Excellency Ken Lewis and His Excellency Kris Panday, to focus on a number of initiatives during the coming year designed to forge a stronger partnership between the two organizations.
